AC3 51 Posted November 10, 2016 Has anyone had the surgery and works in retail? I'm a cashier/stocker and I was wondering how long y'all took off of work? I just don't want to miss too many days bc it's not paid off. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
bostonmama 135 Posted November 11, 2016 I don't work retail sorry, but I also have no paid time off (and no one to do my work while I'm out) so I tried to go back to work as soon as possible. I would think you're going to need at least 2 weeks, and if you can take more time, or work short shifts the first couple of weeks. I went back to a desk job after 1 week, but after 3-4 hours of sitting I really wanted to lie down. You're going to be pretty fatigued in the beginning since you won't be able to get many calories in. Do you have to stand the whole time? You'll probably have a restriction on how much you can lift for 4-6 weeks.
