My PB's, 90% of the time I got a warning. I think it had to do with eating more than I should have.. I ate, I was full, but I wanted one more bite.

Then it just goes ballistic.. mine are never painful or heaving, etc.. it's just a burp and up comes liquid and food(despite not having liquid with the meal), and I spit it into a cup or toilet, whatever is handy.

The times I didn't do anything wrong (that I know of), were with chicken from chinese places every time. I chew and chew and chew, but it's stringy I guess.. and the FIRST bite, it gets stuck.. and doesn't budge. And then I'm done eating.

But sometimes when I eat, I'll eat too quick because I'm hungry, and in the first bite or two I get stuck from not chewing enough, and it moves relatively quickly, it's just reminding me to SLOW DOWN.. and it works.

It's NOT like throwing up (which is accompanied by violent stomach contractions to push the food up and out). This is more like a drain that is clogged.

It is like throwing up for me. Its only happened to me twice but it was violent, loud and forceful. Exactly like vomiting but without actual nausea.

For me how much depends on alot of things. How long I ahve had the fill is the biggest 1. If it is a new fill or refill to previsou point I have to be more caerful, and can pb more easily.

If I am on my period, I can expect it more, alot of ladies will tell you that aroudn that time their band is tighter.

AND if it is raining, which causes my allergies to be bad, I will pb alot that day.

FOR me it is not violent, just gross slime that has to come out. I know the warnings signs of when it will happen and if I am paying attention I can avoid it.

It's not a question of "going away". It's whether you learn how to eat or not. If you continue to eat in the same fashion, no, it will not go away. There is definitely a learning curve to this. You HAVE to modify your behavior to accommodate the band. Some people are better at it than others....some never learn I imagine.

The PB I had at Taco Cabana I had about 3-4 minutes warning. Enough time to gather my stuff, toss my margarita in the trash (*sniff*) and get into the car and grab the water bottle.< /p>

kacee - I realize this wasn't the point of your post, but just my .02... ALWAYS be careful with frozen stuff like the marg. It will clamp down your esophagus (I think the cold contracts the esophagus or maybe the pouch). I suspect it was the marg not the tacos that did you in.

If I get something really cold like that (sometimes even iced tea will do it to me), I wait SEVERAL minutes to let the pipes warm up again before eating. Otherwise it's a certain PB.

Me too---it is begining to sound as though PB's vary as much among bandsters as everything else.

Now, that being said....some people are talking like these PB's happen to them often, and I like Jachut have only had 2---she has longer at this than my 17 months, but it is NOT frequent.

what exactly is this slime everyone speaks about. Is it like when your mouth fills up with salive due to nausea?

Slime is a VERY thick, VERY gooey, form of saliva. The body begins producing it in copius amounts when it senses something is either stuck or needs help moving through. It tries to slick it up for us. Unfortunately, there is sooooo much of it, and we are usually already full which is part of the problem, it only makes matters worse. I have found it best to simply spit it out, as opposed to trying to swallow it. Spitting it out is kinda gross, it wants to string on forever!!! There is no bad taste involved...it is just EXTREME spit!

At least mine is....that too may vary.

Excellent food for thought there! It hadn't even crossed my mind that the cold could have influenced it, but it most definitely could have! I rmember thinking "But I didn't take that big a bite or not chew enough or anything"...I bet I just froze "my pipe" and it shut down!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
