katragina 33 Posted November 9, 2016 I'm 6 days post op. Every night when I'm taking medicine, I get awful heart burn and just feel sick and discouraged. Does anyone else have issues with taking medicine? sent from my rotary phone surgery date: 11/2/2016
PorkChopExpress 821 Posted November 9, 2016 Probably depends on the medicine. You may want to try putting just a little something in there (a swallow of Protein shake or something) before you take the medicine. Otherwise, mention it to your surgeon.
trainer-1 22 Posted November 9, 2016 I take carafate before every meal and prilosec 20mg twice daily. No problems with reflux. Sent from my SM-G930V using the BariatricPal App
beezy8 41 Posted November 14, 2016 I had problems with nausea for a while post op. Call your surgeon right away. They can prescribe something for you to help. I had mine meds delivered a few hours after I called the doc. It was a tremendous help! Sent from my SPH-L720 using the BariatricPal App
Dub 9,922 Posted November 14, 2016 6 days post of is a very sensitive time for your new stomach. I was still crushing pills at that point and taking them with Protein shakes. Maybe you can adjust times a bit and ensure that you aren't laying down too soon after taking meds. Staying upright for a bit and perhaps even flushing system out with Water later on prior to laying down may help. It gets much better later on. You are in the tough stages now.....hang in there.
