rolosmom7 740 Posted November 8, 2016 You're still full of all the fluids, swelling, etc from surgery. It's not at all uncommon. Hang in there!
cklasun 33 Posted November 8, 2016 I'm four days post op and I'm down 15lbs. Crazy.
Shanrom 13 Posted November 8, 2016 I didn't lose until all of my swelling went down. for me that was about 5 days it started coming off. Make sure you get plenty of liquids in, I know that is easier said then done but do your best!!
Nativprincezz 20 Posted November 8, 2016 I gained 8 pounds from all the fluids and the the air that they used to blow you up when they do surgery and so it took me about a week to lose that 8 pounds and then I lost another 24 pounds so and I'm 3 weeks post-op and now I'm stuck at a certain weight but hopefully it'll come off some more just hang in there Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App
Sai 785 Posted November 8, 2016 Common question and concern so you're not alone. My weight didn't budge for 10 days after my revision to sleeve. Water weight for sure, body adjusting to major surgery. Everybody is different, some drop a lot the first 2 weeks, then stall on wk 3. I was kind of glad my stall (lack of a better term) was right away.
livvsmum 2,369 Posted November 8, 2016 I think it took a couple of weeks for the loss to show because of being pumped full of fluids in the hospital. Hang in there! Stick with the plan and it will come off!

Aggiemae 739 Posted November 8, 2016 if you're on plan you are losing FAT no matter what scale says.
cklasun 33 Posted November 9, 2016 Just to update you, I lost 15 lbs as of yesterday morning and today I'm up 4. Still drinking the same my guess is that my body is protecting itself from losing too fast. Annoying but it all evens out. any luck for you today? Hormones play a big role. After my csection in 2013, I was super super swollen for 2.5 weeks, I couldn't even wear flip flops. Dr said it was a reaction to the surgery. cassandramarie93 199 Posted November 10, 2016 I was sleeved on the 7th and I think I'm going to stay away from the scale until the swelling goes down and I'm feeling more myself. I don't want to focus on anything but healing properly at this point. I will end up driving myself crazy if I start weighing at this point. Lorie269 392 Posted November 10, 2016 My surgery weight (after pre-op diet) was 248 and I am sure I gained weight from fluids while in the hospital. I did not weigh myself until 1 week out at my PCP follow-up visit and I was 240. I lost consistently for 10 months with really no stalls. I lost about 120 pounds total from day of surgery to reaching goal. If you stay on plan, you will lose.
