No question just wanted to post about eating an egg. First non liquid. I have never actually made just one egg before. I touched it and ate slowly and felt full! Full on ONE egg...amazing.

Congrats on your first egg. That was my first non liquid postoperative food, too. Best thing I Ever ate but I could only finish 1/2 of it.

I am 6 years out and the one egg thing still amazes me. A hearty weekend Breakfast used to be a three egg omelet loaded with cheese, mushrooms, ham, and onions with 1/2 plate of hash browns and 2-3 sausage links. Now I get the same satisfaction with a ONE egg omelet sprinkled with cheese, bacon bits and spinach. Anymore toppings than that and I wouldn't be able to finish it!

My surgeon expects my sleeve volume to be a bit over 6 oz. I think that's larger that some. Apparently I have a long stomach, so now I have a long banana.

We have chickens, they are mostly off laying for the winter, but we got two yesterday so my egg was VERY fresh.

Surgery was 10/25. Today was my weekly weight day though I got weighted on Saturday at the physical therapy appt. I've lost 15 lbs, almost 4 lbs since Saturday.

I has an pouched egg 1oz of chicken and a spoon of hot sauce for Breakfast today. I was planning on stringent cheese but thought of cheese grossed me out.

I used to love eggs. Now I can't tolerate them very well. They taste weird post surgery.

I made 4 oz of salmon, an oz of baked yams and 3 normal slices of zucchini for dinner. I have leftovers. Going to eat them tomorrow.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
