ShelterDog64 2,364 Posted November 9, 2016 @@mcplu28 A little perspective: You lost 42 (43?) lbs in 3 months on your own. I HAD THE SLEEVE DONE, and I lost 52 in 3 mos...to me, that means you're kicking ass Our docs will do the sleeve on very high BMI patients and then revise to bypass or DS when they've lost some of the weight. Do get a second opinion, for your own peace of mind if nothing else. Congratulations on your amazing results so far...don't give up and don't get discouraged. You're on the road to saving your own life <
Dashofpixiedust8 1,469 Posted November 9, 2016 (edited) I was around your weight at 540 when I went in for my first appointment and my surgeons only had me lose 40 pounds before they would do the surgery. I lost about 60 pounds in 6 months so you have really done fantastic! I know 9 pounds may not seem like much because we were on the high end so we think weight should just fly off, right? But your body needs time to adjust to the loss. You will have months you lose a lot and some you don't. I also would look into different surgeons. Each practice has their own highest weight they will operate on. Do some research! You can do this! Don't get down on yourself for still losing weight! If you gained 9 pounds that would be a different story. Keep working at it. It's not going to come off all at once but it's worth it!
