catwoman7 11,221 Posted November 7, 2016 I ate A LOT of sugar free Jello, since it was the only semi-solid thing I could have. Stock up!!
shedo82773 1,236 Posted November 7, 2016 I basically stayed away from anything except my Protein drinks. I was afraid to do anything at all. I did 2 weeks of Protein Drinks preop and 4 weeks of Protein Drinks postop. Postop I did drink bouillon and I did have SF Tropical popsicle tho. I was just afraid to go off of my program before because I didn't want my WLS canceled. After I was afraid it would hurt my new pouch.
genn 460 Posted November 8, 2016 I'm only allowed to have Jello twice a day!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

SharBear617 146 Posted November 8, 2016 I survived by early bedtimes at night....literally gave myself an excuse to go to bed some nights by 7:30p, helped get me through it. Plus I figured a rested body will surely heal better after surgery than a tired one! Sent from my SM-G928V using the BariatricPal App

Djmohr 6,965 Posted November 8, 2016 I got so sick of the sweet cloying taste of the shakes, Jello and popsicles. When I talked to my bariatric team they suggested making some homemade fresh chicken broth. Not the canned stuff..... If it were not for that, I dont think I would survive. I sipped on it alot pre op and definately post op.

Djmohr 6,965 Posted November 8, 2016 @@genn Got it, when you said juice I thought you meant fruit juice. Any of the sugar free drinks like crystal light and such work but I am with you I cannot eat or drink anything with sugar substitutes. They cause Migraines for me. shedo82773 1,236 Posted November 9, 2016 Maybe try to put some extra liquid in them. Be it Water, milk, Almond milk. You could order some GENEPRO online. It is unflavored and is really great to add to other things. coffee if you drink it. If you add it to something warm temper it with some warm Water get it mixed well then add it. Or you can make SF pudding or Jello and use some of your Protein Drink in it. It is very important to follow your Dr.'s guidelines. Good Luck
