Armygalbonnie 643 Posted November 7, 2016 Hi All, I am 6 days post op. I'm still trying to learn the signals that my new stomach is giving me. I have one thing that is really bothering me. During the middle of the night, I have such an intense gnawing in my stomach, that it wakes me up. It's very uncomfortable. The only way I can get it to settle down is to eat or drink something. Is this hunger? Acid? Gas? Is this mid-night snack something I'm going to have to continue? I am taking my PPI. Meeting my liquids goal. Almost meeting my Protein goal. Just a few grams short. Any advice is appreciated. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
jess9395 5,449 Posted November 7, 2016 That's how acid felt to me and I had to increase my PPI and take a second one before bed for a couple of months. kzoojason76 44 Posted November 7, 2016 Since you are just in the early days of post-op, you can't really trust the signals that your new stomach is giving you. it is still in the healing phase, so it's all confused!! There should be no reason that you're feeling real hunger. I have to agree, it is most likely acid.
Armygalbonnie 643 Posted November 7, 2016 I'm sure that's what it is. I may go ahead and call my Dr and report it. My post op is the 17th but that's too many days of discomfort. Thank you so much for the helpful advice. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

tdia13 24 Posted November 7, 2016 I had sleeve on the 2nd. I have this and feeling. If I take my anti spasm mess or acid mess it goes away. I think the the antacid is the way to go. For me that feeling is a sign that it is time for my meds. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
