Pain almost 4 months out.

Recommended Posts

Hey all so I'm having extreme discomfort like I pulled a muscle but it's like right near where one of my scars and it hurts if I move to quickly or what not anyone have any issues with this?

When I had my followup I asked about what a hernia would feel like at one of incision points and she said basically it feels like a sharp pain when moving or if picking up something. Not sure if it is the same since you are 4 months out.

I'm actually wondering if it's my gallbladder. I know a lot of people end up having issues with it after weight loss surgery.

What side is it on? Gall bladder pain is usually in the right side of your chest, moving toward the center. I've had gall bladder issues for years. It typically comes and goes. It's worse after a fatty meal, and vomiting almost always makes the pain go away.

Of course, those were pre-op symptoms. They might be different post op.

It's on my right side toward right under my breast and a little lower the pain comes and goes but when I pick up my cat it causes pain and if I move wrong it causes pain idk what it is i haven't done anything strenuous. But I have lost almost 100 pounds in 4 months so I'm not sure

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
