Rewards???

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

I am 2 lbs from 50 lbs, and although the weight has come off so quickly, I feel as though I deserve a reward for hitting this milestone. In the past, I would have made my reward a dinner out with my husband. But, as much as I would like a night out with him, I want to stop rewarding (etc...) myself with food.

So what do you all reward yourselves with when you hit certain milestones? In theory, we should just intrinsically get enough by having just lost weight/exercised, etc.....but I'm not that kind of person...I want PRESENTS!!!

Please keep in mind that I have no cash to speak of...nor have I lost enough weight that buying new clothing is fun. A size 26 shirt is just not all that exciting...even if it used to be a 28/30.

Thanks!!! Looking forward to seeing how everyone rewards themselves.

Good question! How do others reward themselves. My family usually goes out to dinner also, but if it's going to be a reward for me than I'd like some ideas too.

Look forward to hearing everyones suggestions.......presents do sound good tho!

I got my hair cut, colored, highlighted, etc. for my last reward. But that was $220.00. I'm sure you could get in stages or a cheaper place.

Take a trip, most of the places we don't even consider going are within our own state. I live in AZ and have lived here for 22 years and I have yet to go to the Grand Canyon. Trips don't have to be expensive.

Next milestone is a "haunted weekend" with friends. We are going to go to hotels and such for a long weekend that are known to (supposedly) be haunted.

There are lots of things you can do. What do you want to do? We might be able to come up with an affordable way to do what you've already been wanting to do.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
