laura1116 112 Posted November 7, 2016 I will be 3 weeks out and only lost 9 lbs. this doesn't seem right and I am doing exactly what I have been taught. I'm 47 and surgical weight was 229. I quit smoking a couple months ago so I am also wondering if this is one of the reasons I'm so slow to lose. I feel clothes getting looser and family and friends have said I look like I'm losing. Trying to be patient but it's starting to bug me. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

suzzzzz 1,005 Posted November 7, 2016 Do a search on stall, not losing, only lost, etc. There are tons of posts on this. Basically, a stall is normal. Your body is healing and adjusting. Keep on your plan and the weight will come off. 9 lbs is a great loss so far. You just had major surgery. Weight won't come off consistently but you will likely lose inches when the scale doesn't go down.

Mnicole 17 Posted November 7, 2016 Everyone is so different from what I've seen. My surgery weight was 226 and now I'm 208.8 in 3 1/2 weeks. Make Protein and fluids your priority and do a lot of walking if you aren't already (as long as you're comfortable) Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
Sai 785 Posted November 7, 2016 You body may still be holding onto Water. Are you meeting your Water and Protein goals? Sent from my SM-N910V using the BariatricPal App

I've read about how some people lose really slow at first and then they'll have rapid weightloss instead of rapid first and then slow down. It sounds like you're doing everything you should be so just be patient:) Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I've lost a total of 10 lbs since surgery and nothing in the last week and a half. I'm supposed to be on puréed food, but went back to clear liquid diet because I'm not losing. I'm also using my elliptical 40mins per day. I'm tracking everything in my fitness pal - I've been consuming 75g Protein and well over 80 oz Water. No more than 200 calories in a day - and still not losing. I'm starting to get depressed. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
Joy@boman 151 Posted November 8, 2016 2 weeks out i have lost not one ounce but my clothes are looser. I had to throw away a bra because it kept falling down. So something is happening. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
