BandedKT 7 Posted November 4, 2016 I was just wondering if what I'm experiencing is normal or if I should get checked out. I'll be 4 weeks post surgery on Monday I had a lap band removed and bypass at the same time. I'm still so tired all the time, like physically exhausted that I can't do much besides sleep. I'm also feeling nauseated especially when eating and the last couple of days I've had a dull ach across my stomach, I'm not sure if that's just the internal stitches healing etc or if there's more to it, any help would be great, also I'd love to know what ppl lost (in KG if possible in the first 4 weeks post op, I've lost 12.4kg) and just want to know I'm on the right track! catwoman7 11,220 Posted November 4, 2016 check with your surgeon. Nausea while eating could potentially be a stricture. If so, you'll want to get that fixed (and it's a very easy fix - I had two of them early out)
Travelher 915 Posted November 4, 2016 I only lost 14lbs in my 4 weeks post surgery. I started Vitamin Patches right away. So I didn't get tired. Without those I definitely got tired. I never had nausea but I know others that have. I was pretty active right away...but may not be typical? I suggest you check in with your doctor to make sure everything is ok. Can't hurt. rolosmom7 740 Posted November 4, 2016 I still feel unwell at week 7 but it has taken a positive turn. I know tons of people are goid at week 3,4,5. I should've taken off more work because I definitely went back too soon. Everyone says it gets easier - just takes longer for some. Hang in there!!!!
James Marusek 5,244 Posted November 5, 2016 12.4 Kg (27 pounds) is a good weight loss for the first 4 weeks. Follow the program requirements. A lack of energy could be caused my not following the Vitamin or Fluid requirements. I had RNY gastric bypass surgery and the program did not have me transition to solid foods until week 9. So there is no need to push into solids because it can be hard on the stomach (and can cause nausea). Walking at least 30 minutes each day can help ease the pain quite a bit.
