I think the same Inner Surfer Girl. Years ago I was told by one of many of my weight loss coach's, that the reason you need to drink 64oz of Water at the least that your fat is like ash when you are losing weight and the Water is what flushes it out. So I always have been a huge water drinker until I had my RNY and due to the smallness of our pouch I have a really hard time drinking enough water. It is so much better now that I am 3 years out. I can swig it like a champ. LOL

What most people don't understand is that fat cells don't actually GO anywhere. They shrink and swell, they're just storage containers.

I knew that PorkChopExpress, from my many days of different diets. I had a DR tell me that if you make fat cells they never go away. You can fluff em back up totally easy to do!! LOL

My theory is that it turns into gas. I swear, I'm 1000 times more flatulent than before surgery.

Is it just me? It's embarrassing because I rarely had gas before, but now it's ridiculous. I wake up and feel like I'm depressurizing.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
