i need some encoragement from you guys! I just looked at the group which has not lost much or any weigh since banding. I haven't been banded yet but my past experiences in weigh lost have not been good. I would love any secrets on how to be in your close to goal group instead of the not losing group. i am banding on Oct. 3,07

P.S. Did anyone else go on a nesting (like before babies) spree? I am giving away diet books and "fat" summer clothes, praying that I won't need them again next summer!

Oh boy, I almost consider myself a slow loser. If I had to say so, one of my best boosters to this weight loss was my surgeon requiring me to clear liquid fast for the first 30 days. I lost about a pound a day there. I only drank Clear liquids, made homemade chicken and beef broth for the little bit of Protein I was taking in.

I guess there is no secret to successful weight loss. I have to stick to 'clean' food, unprocessed Proteins first and soft cooked veggies later. If my weight loss slows down it is usually due to my imbibing in non-diet friendly foods.

Exercise is also key.

Good luck my dear.

I am pms'ing and pissed off at myself and the scale can just go straight to H E L L today.

I am holding, holding, holding.........bloody hell.............:)

Going to the gym now to take out my frustrations......:)

I feel that I am close to goal weight. I am smaller now then I have ever been my whole life. I was 229 at the start of this and a size 18. I had my surgery in December and am now a size 10 and 160 pounds. I now build cars on an assembly line and working this summer has just had me shedding the weight like crazy. Every two weeks I am dropping a size. The only downfall is having to buy new clothes every couple of weeks!

Ditto, best money I ever spent! So far it's $72.23/pound. I'd do it again without a 2nd thought.

I have had it to here with this plateau. I booked a fill for one week Monday.

I am at 3.0, and will ask for a .1 or .2 fill.

I am really excited to see some numbers moving again.

They've actually started to go UP of late.

sigh!

Just got back from my whirlwind trip to get a fill.

It is no wonder I was getting frustrated. I had lost .2 of my fill and was sitting at 2.8. Dr said osmosis. So anyway, I'm now filled to 3.2cc.....

So let the weight loss begin and the countdown continue.

Let's see, where was I...???

Goal, around 175.

Current 195, so

20

I'm going to do it if it kills me! Great thread. I never considered myself close to goal until I read this thread. It's weird but I've never been at or near goal before.

Jeanie

Let's do this together!!!

RIGHT ON JAZLADY! Feels good doesn't it?

I have been to goal before, but only for about 5 minutes and when I was bulemic in my late teens/ early 20s.

One of my friends commented on how happy I am and I said, that a WEIGHT has been lifted from me, from both my body and my soul.

The MOST amazing thing to me is that with proper adjustments, I will NEVER gain this weight back, as I have countless times before. This thrills me to no end.

Countdown today!

15

When I lose on more pound, I will be in the 80s, I haven't been in the 80s SINCE the 80s......:whoo:

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
