RNMomof4 86 Posted November 3, 2016 Starting my second week post op and I am so much more tired than last week. Not having any trouble drinking clears or getting 2 Protein shakes/day but my butt is worn out. Maybe too much excitement last week and this week it's catching up to me?? BigViffer 3,544 Posted November 3, 2016 Just curious, are you on any BP meds? I was on them after surgery and I was told by everyone that I looked like the walking dead. When I talked to my surgeon, he said that I should immediately stop taking them as well as my metformin (blood sugar). Literally the next day I felt like a new man. Of course, if you are not on BP meds it could be something as simple as dehydration and you will need an IV bag of Fluid to get you right. Then it will be a matter of keeping up your fluid intake no matter how hard it is.
RNMomof4 86 Posted November 3, 2016 No BP meds here. I don't think I am dehydrated but will up the fluids. Heather I 500 Posted November 3, 2016 @@ppressey24, oh no! Yours sounds much more severe than mine if you are heading to the ER! Good luck!@@BigViffer, I am on BP meds but had them checked last week with my PCP and BP was perfect. Dr. said keep on with them until December's follow-up and we will see about lowering/removing the rx, so IDK.I have been hitting all my Protein and Water targets right along; no food issues to speak of. IDK. Modern life working 7x a week split shifts with two toddlers? LOL. IDK. I'm beat.
SilentBotts 138 Posted November 3, 2016 I was exhausted for about the first month and a half post-op. I don't remember super well at what point my energy level started to go up, but it's definitely a thing. Seven months out I'm sleeping better, exercising regularly, getting way more done every day, waking up earlier.

nannare 38 Posted November 3, 2016 Me too. 5 weeks out and I stay so tired. Taking all my Vitamins, getting all my Protein, and walking. I can sleep all day if I get the cance. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App
heidikat72 935 Posted November 3, 2016 It was over 2 months before I had any energy whatsoever. I really struggled with fatigue. Heather I - do you have a way to check your blood pressure on your own? If so, check it daily. I was shocked at how quickly it suddenly dropped about a month post-op - to the point where I had some very scary episodes where I nearly passed out in the shower and at work. Recycled 2,182 Posted November 3, 2016 Hey, your body is still trying to move that huge mass around on a fifth of the fuel. And because it senses you are starving.....it's trying to conserve energy.....hence ......tired. Once things become a little more routine and balance out and you lighten the load some.......things will pick up.
