It can definitely seem overwhelming at times! I have a bunch of appointments to knock out prior to surgery also. I can say I've learned quite a bit, so it has been a positive experience. Wishing you well on your journey.????

Hang in there darling! I just had my surgery (sleeve) last Friday and my first appointment was back in march....I couldn't believe the time had finally come because march to October seemed like an eternity.

Try not to obsess over the surgery date and just push forward. I tried to think of it as, "well I've got the next 6-7 months to be as fat as I want, therefore I can't feel cheated once I finally have my surgery." Try and find the silver lining!

It's gonna make the moment when the day comes SOOO much more worth it.

Do your appointments and focus on life. Feel all your feelings of how you feel in your skin now for the next 6 months because it will all change after that!

Can't say I'm a guru of any sort but optimism (or the attempt of) gets me thru!

Good luck!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
