rny.chica 2 Posted November 2, 2016 I have posted this before, but am now really struggling and need advice/words of wisdom/ANYTHING. I had surgery 7/27 and it truly has been great! I'm down almost 90 pounds woo! Something i am struggling with so much is what I would call "frothy" vomiting after eating. The best way I can describe it is tightening of my chest, excessive saliva and burping until i eventually have to throw up. I know it is not dumping because i've experienced that (dumping for me is more of a total body experience with sweat, shaking, etc). This does not happen all the time, but mainly after Breakfast. Just today, i ate veggies and chicken for dinner, got sick, tried a banana 3 hours later, got sick, tried a rice cake 2 hours later, got sick. I AM SO FRUSTRATED and it is completely exhausting. If anyone can relate, please let me know! Any advice would be seriously appreciated. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Chicken Lady 102 Posted November 2, 2016 (edited) I get that from eating chicken or anything too dry. I was sleeved 7/27/16. Someone mentioned trying Papaya enzyme when it happens. They said that it helps break down the "stuck" food. I've tried it and it might have helped, but mostly I avoid chicken whenever possible. For me, when it happened, I tried to not eat solids for the rest of the day. It helped me feel better if I stuck to purée for the rest of the day. I refer to that as my Non Eating Day... PorkChopExpress 821 Posted November 2, 2016 (edited) That usually seems to happen with overeating but it may be that certain foods are causing inflammation, which might cause it. You will have to consult your surgeon, but I would start journaling your food choices and the results. See if you can narrow down which foods are routinely causing this reaction. But if you are eating until you're stuffed, that's likely the reason. You mentioned eating a rice cake...if there is a food more likely to expand like a sponge in your stomach, I can't think of one.
