Hi. I am just hitting Week 1 post op Sleeve. Beginning to realize more and more how much effort must be focused on a daily basis to not fall into the downhill spiral of dehydration & Vitamin deficiency.

To keep it simple, I am really thinking of upgrading to patch MD Vitamin Patches starter pack. Has anyone tried them?? Are they effective enough for bariatric patients??

Just want to make sure that all daily vitamin requirements will be met no matter if it's administered via transdermal patch or taking them orally...

Appreciate some thoughts & input please & thank you.

I use the Multivitamin Plus patch and just had my 9 month followup on Wed. The only thing that was low on my blood work up was my Essential Fatty Acids. I ran out in The middle of Aug. I didn't want to travel all the way up tot he surgeons office to get more of them so I wanted until this past Wed.

I'm almost 6 weeks post-op (9/20) and I use the patch multi-Vitamin and Vitamin B's. They seem to work well and the B's give me energy.

I been using them since I was sleeved in May 2015. I have my blood work checked every 3 months and exceeds expectations from the surgeon and primary dr.

Yes all you need is the muti. I overbought on Vitamins as other things were listed in my handbook. Ugh. I had also bought the vit B12 for energy and use that although my nut said the multi was sufficient.

You can buy them off the store here. I use the multi and the Vit D Patches. I stick them on my chest under my bra. They stay on good in that spot. I take Gummy B12 that I bought from the drug store.

My surgery date was 11/8. I ordered them and have been using them. I ordered the Multi, D3, and B-12. I really hope they do the job. I go back for my follow-up in Dec. I know it's hard for me to take a bunch of Vitamins, so the Patches are a lifesaver!

I just started using the Multivitamin patch yesterday, I have blood work due in two weeks. Time will tell. My nutritionist said as far as the medical community is concerned the verdict is still out on these. She said some people have seen great success with them and others are still coming back deficient. But she said they're definitely worth a shot.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
