@@christinah Wouldn't even consider it! I have a huge bag of mini snickers and other candy waiting for Trick or Treaters - even though we usually get less than 10 kids. I was never a candy person anyway - but at 2 weeks post-op - I have no interest at all.

I don't plan to. But if I do it will be a small piece.

Since I can actually buy clothes off the rack now, I bought a Halloween sweater this year. I have been wearing it all month to get my money's worth since hopefully it will be too big next year!

Nope... but sweets isn't my vice anyways. So I hadn't even thought about it at all today.. until now but I'm still like meh... no thanks.

BTW... Candygyrl is a nickname I received in jr high. Part of it has to do with my actual name... the other part of it is I always had candy. Always. My grandparents would give me like $20 bucks everytime I visited so I would blow it all on Candy. So much in fact I used to sell it and earn every penny plus an extra $10. Sometimes when I was bored I'd throw it all up in the air and watch kids scramble for it just for kicks and giggles. But eventually I got away from eating candy as much when I graduated high school so... mainly because I wanted to keep my teeth for as long as possible and my family had a history of decayed teeth.

I had a Reeses Peanut Butter cup last week when we were giving out candies to the kids at work. While it tasted pretty good, after having gone so long without much in the way of sugar, it actually made me feel a little ... I dunno, gross afterwards. Kind of like you might feel if you had eaten something particularly greasy.

So, back to work today and that jar of chocolates is still there. I had some almonds instead. Much more satisfying actually.

Nope. I have no desire. I'm going to be glad to hand out the bag of candy tonight, get it out of the house! I'm not huge on sweets anyway.

While I was at Walmart picking up candy for trick or treaters I picked up some sugar free jolly ranchers and Peanut Butter cups by Russell Stover and they are really good. I still don't eat much being 2 months post op 11/1 but for something once in a while this will work...1 Peanut Butter cup

Honestly, I have Protein Bars so frequently that I never crave candy or candy bars. The Protein bars completely satisfy that crave. And the protein cakes I make take care of the dessert cravings. It's been a saver for me for sure!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
