Day 2 not as bad as I thought it would be I am hungry it comes and goes as long as I stay busy I am ok but once I get home things change. Going to have to try and keep myself busy so how until it is time to go to bed. Also at times I get these light annoying headaches off and on I don't know maybe its from not having the coffee. Well to be continued. I do say one thing writing this stuff down really does help me even if I don't get any feed back.

I started mine Friday. I have 3 weeks on mine. It gets bad for me at night around dinner time. My 2nd and 3rd were not fun. My nutritionist says that eating some broth with regular sodium can help the first few days you get a headache. Good luck!

I'm on day 8 myself, and to be honest days 1 and 2 were the hardest. Since then I've been surprised at how well I have done.

Wishing you the best!

I feel ya!! All this will soon be over. Take this one stage at a time. At this pount i was scared of how my life would be post sleeve. I thought it would be like this for lifetime and i didn't think I could make such a big lifestyle change. I remember calling my cousin who has had the sleeve to ask her if the hunger would ever end. She assured me to keep pushing forward. The hunger will end.

The first time I purchased my Decaf from McDonalds. I returned it because I thought they made an error and gave me regular coffee. When they brought me the second cup I returned it again. It was too good to be true to be a decaf. McDonald's decaf rocks!

The great thing about cutting out the Decaf now is that headaches will all be gone post-surgery. You might never want to go back to caffeine again. I cut caffeine out of my daily regimen. I don't miss it. Nor do I miss my 104 pounds.

Thanks for the encouraging words. It has really helped me being on here and seeing I'm not alone in this. I know I'm the end it will be worth it. I am looking forward to the hunger going away!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
