@@markiealex I'm on mushy foods and have been experimenting. My favorite so far was Mexican Dip - brown hamburger in frying pan, add can of Beans and packet of Chili mix. In bottom of pan - slightly melt cream cheese and spread. Add cooked hamburg mixture and top with Mexican cheese (shredded). Bake at 350 for about 30 mins until bubbling. I ate right off spoon. I also made meatballs (without bread crumbs) and heated up with beef gravy. I'm going to make an Italian bake with broken up meatball too. I have cottage cheese and a little bit of All fruit for Breakfast. I tried egg salad. I will try ham salad, seafood salad, chicken salad and tuna at some point.

Awesome thank you! My stomach doesn't agree with egg salad

I stuck to scrambled eggs, cottage cheese, greek high Protein yogurts as well as Protein drinks initially, in the soft food phase and introduced other foods slowly. That way I could log down all the Protein, carbs etc I had that day rather than making a meal and not really knowing the nutritional value of what I was able to eat. It's boring I know but I added foods one at a time so I knew what was working for me and what wasn't. It was only when I was near goal that I relaxed about eating meals that I couldn't track as much.

Congrats on the surgery :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
