melrey521 5 Posted October 30, 2016 I am 5 weeks post op and I understand there are stalls in losing weight but is it normal to gain? I was down 40 pounds 2 weeks ago and I have slowly gained back 5 pounds, I am trying not to panic but when I see the scale moving up instead of down it's kind of scary. breuxo 78 Posted October 30, 2016 don't worry it's not real fat or weight gain! to gain 1 pound you would have to eat 3,500 cals more than you need a day! which at five weeks out i've doubt you done. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
bellabeans 74 Posted October 30, 2016 Same here , last week I was 227, then Monday 223,Wednesday back up to 227. But today I was 221 . I feel it in my clothes so I usually go by that and only pay attention to the scale at doctor weigh ins . Zoes.Realm 190 Posted October 30, 2016 I am just about 8 months out. During a weigh in I have never had a perceived weight gain but I also have never weighed myself other than at the doctors office. I know I was freak myself out weighing all of the time. Some of us just need so show resistant in weighing ourselves all of the time. _Kate_ 2,224 Posted October 30, 2016 Are you due on your monthly? Are you constipated? I know I tend to gain when I don't go to the loo for a while. Are you logging everything you eat down? Are you drinking enough fluids (and the right ones) If you are sticking to your teams advice you are doing good. Put the scale away for a while and keep on track. Congrats re the surgery btw

Congrats re the surgery btw I think it's due to Constipation. Never thought much about the fact that I hadn't been to the loo in many days that wasn't normal for me. I am slowly making progress.
