Recommended Posts

It's completely normal to think and rethink it I started looking into doing this 5 years ago had the paper work to inquire about it had a referral my dr suggested it in five years my fibromyalgia got worse bc my weight got heavier I was diagnosed with degenerative disc disease which took its toll bc of my weight. High blood pressure and most of all my energy depleted bc of all my health problems I then started getting depressed bc of being in pain all the time bc of how much weight I'm carrying around I want me back nov 22 will start my journey to get the old me back I'm taking my life back I wouldn't care if King Kong looked at me and said ur not fat enough I love my life I feel my pain and I want me back again not only for my happiness but so my kids have they're mom to walk them down the isle one day. Only you know how you feel I WISH I would never have backed out then 80 more lbs heavier and now I'm doing it. You always have support on here. Do what makes you happy and healthy!!! Best of luck on your journey!!!

I have a lot of people who have their own opinions but opinions are like assholes, everyone has one. I was told the same thing by everyone. I had to say that this is my body and you don't have to live in it so back off. You are doing the right thing. Obviously if you could do it on your own your insurance wouldn't have oked the procedure.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
