Portable Non Perishable Food

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I work out in the field and drive around all day. I do not want to carry an ice chest around with me but was wondering if anyone had any ideas as to things I could carry around with me to eat for lunch and Snacks. Here is what I have been doing but would like more of a variety. I have slimfast low carb drinks, meal bars, fruit and nuts, small containers of apple sauce and stuff like that. All ideas would be much appreciated.

I get those little cans of tuna, they have the pop off lid. Also apples and oranges have a long shelf life when not refridgerated, a jar of Peanut Butter, and some crackers.

Best of luck, I plan to check this thread often to get some new ideas!

Just out of curiosity; I, too, am in sales. How long after your surgery were you able to get back out into the field? Do you have to carry any product with you and if so, was that difficult?

I had my surgery on a Friday and had originally planned to go back on the following Monday but my supervisor told me to take another day which I was very glad to do. By Tuesday I was fine just a little worried about bumping my stomach (still tender around the port). The only problem I really had was week #2/3 when the gas pain started shooting into my shoulder after I ate my mushie food. I inspect Subway restaurants and would leave and walk up and down the sidewalk hoping to ease the pain. Walking did nothing for me. I learned that laying down for about 10 minutes did the trick and the pain would leave me. So I started carring a pillow in my truck so I could go out and just lay down till it past. I actually started back on solid food a couple of days early and the pain went away. I don't know if that had anything to do with it or not, but it worked for me. Hope this helps.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
