#BirdDog 604 Posted October 29, 2016 (edited) I'm 8 weeks post op, 370 the day I started my preop liquid diet, 291 this morning. Losing 100+ pounds is definitely realistic for me, many people have done it using this surgery as a tool. All depends on your numbers and what you're going to put into this journey. BSWhip08 23 Posted October 30, 2016 I really hope so! Many things I read said folks can expect to lose 60-70% of their excessive weight, I am really hoping for more. I had the band for almost 10 years and didn't do so well. Really trying to stay positive about my upcoming sleeve surgery. Good luck to all,
gl12282 15 Posted October 30, 2016 I would be clear that the 'expectation' is 60-70% but there will be many who lose more (just look around this forum) but equally if that's the average and some lose more, then there will be some that lose less. It's really down to you. Face your 'demons', use it as a tool to help but don't rely on it to do everything. I see this as my 'emergency brake' for life - if I rely on it too much, it will 'wear out' and stop working but if I do my best most of the time, it will kick in when I need it (and I definitely still need it at times as much as I try not to). That may not be scientific but it's my analogy and it seems to be working so far ! Good luck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
