busybeebug 415 Posted October 29, 2016 I'm just about 6 weeks out. I eat my few bites and stop. I'm not *stuffed* but I feel full. I wait the 30 minutes and I'm still feeling full and adding a sip makes me nauseated. I am very thirsty but obviously I am not going to make myself sick so I wait. I cannot drink until about 1.5 to 2 hours later. If I have something like yogurt, I only need to wait 45 minutes to an hour. It's frustrating. Do any of you have or had this issue? Does this wait time cut down as you heal better?
newlife9-27 37 Posted October 29, 2016 Tuesday will be 5 weeks for me. I was like that at first but its getting better. They told me it is more important to drink than eat. People heal at different rates. Hunger is slowly coming back and that scares me. Hang in there. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
KristenLe 5,979 Posted October 29, 2016 I would talk to your surgeon. You will get dehydrated at this rate.

I participated in a 5k this morning and I know I'm at a deficit on Water right now. I'm struggling to get it in without eating.
gl12282 15 Posted October 30, 2016 I had the same. I am definitely better now than in early days though. I still can't drink anything other than a tiny sip for at least 30 mins and longer after a meal. However it's not too bad before eating (although I know you need to be careful not to 'wash food' down). So I tend to spend most of my day concentrating on drinking enough and particularly if I haven't had enough to just postpone a meal to get a bit more liquid in. In the early days, I would sometimes substitute a meal for shakes/soup though to get the liquid in. I'm sure it will improve for you over time.
