laylalayla 6 Posted October 28, 2016 I was paralyzed in an accident 5 years ago, I am still paralyzed, durining the 5 years weight crept on and made my life even more difficult. I decided to do the bariatric sleeve. I looked at hospitals in Thailand, Mexico and India. Mexico was closest so I picked Mexico. I wish I went with India. Mexico had me scheduled out of hospital within 24 hrs, India asked me to stay 10 (same price). They gave me a link with super basic food info. Said I can take any meds I want. I am scrambling to find out when I should be feeling (my left side is in pain and I am suffering severe orthostatic hypotension) the team here in Mexico just seemed to want me out out out. I paid for an extra day. My bill has gone up from $4800 quote to $6000. With no support. So I am hoping to gleen some guidance from you all here! I am on day 5 and only had chicken stock, juice and Water. I am a little hungry but can handle 2 more days. I can't move so I am always in great discomfort. I fly tomorrow and and worried about how I will manage. I worry I won't have enough care at home (I live alone) Day 7 what can I eat? Day 14 what can I eat? I am 5'8 210lbs and hope to get down to 150 and start my journey of rehab in hopes to walk, or at least stand one day. MaryCatherine 173 Posted October 28, 2016 There is a site The World According to Eggface. Go there and search for phase. She spells out exactly what you need for each phase and shows you what to buy and how to prepare your meals.

KristenLe 5,979 Posted October 28, 2016 @@laylalayla Do you have any blood thinners to take during the flight? How about compression stockings? It's a shame you're not getting the after care you need. In my first week post-op I was on Protein Shakes and liquids (water, Powerade Zero, Decaf tea, broth, sugar free Jello, sugar free popsicles. I could take my regular meds as long as they weren't long acting or capsules. Tablets had to be smaller than an M&M. No NSAIDS. Be sure to get in at least 64ozs of fluids. Good luck! shedo82773 1,236 Posted October 28, 2016 First off you are an AMAZING person!! To take control of your life like this!! Do you have anyone that comes to your house to help? If I was able to I would come to help you. I do have some experience with helping people. I have worked with different areas of the spectrum. You are STRONG and you can do this. If you would like me to email some info that they gave my husband. We also went to Mexico but we didn't use this SITE. We went to JUAREZ, MEXICO thru BeLiteWeight. We are not happy with the service we received. But that is another story. Good Luck If I can help in any way please let me know.

Inner Surfer Girl 12,015 Posted October 29, 2016 You definitely need more Protein. Did your surgeon or NUT give you a Protein target? Mine is 100 grams and my surgeon's basic range is 80-100 grams. Try searching Bariatric Center of Excellence manual to see if you can find some post-op food plans. I am surprised your surgeon didn't give you any post-op guidance. Best of luck with your recovery. shedo82773 1,236 Posted October 29, 2016 I have been thinking about you!! I was so glad that you was still here. Getting help from everyone!! My Surgeon told me to get at least 60grams of Protein. But I did have a RNY so I'm not sure wat the guidelines are for a VSG.
laylalayla 6 Posted November 1, 2016 I am not hungry one bit. I drink 3 cups of chicken broth and a 1 cup of Jello a day and get 64oz of liquid. I think I can eat yoghurt but I feel fine just eating what I am... Paralyzed /Canadian/Mexican Sleeve
