Mindy78 372 Posted October 28, 2016 You can do this. Have you had surgery yet? I felt that way when I started in January. It was very hard at first but got easier. It took work though. I am almost 4weeks post op and all my tastes have changed. What I loved for the most part doesn't even bother me seeing people eat around me. Soda was the hardest. It doesn't even cross my mind now. Every lb I lost helped too. HW 292 Preop liquid weight 263 SW 251 Today 239 Sent from my 5054N using the BariatricPal App

Take it one day at a time. If this was easy - none of us would end up needing surgery. Work on eating high Protein, low carb. There's plenty of great tasting food you can have. Working with a good therapist will help.

blizair09 3,250 Posted October 28, 2016 Nothing about this journey is easy at all, and it is not for the weak-willed. I encourage you to embrace the low-carb life pre-op and take this time to prepare yourself for what you will HAVE to do after the surgery. Work with a nutritionist and a psychologist to help you map out a plan and get to the root of your food issues. That will likely help you a lot. With what about low carb are you struggling? Best wishes!!
