brather 7 Posted October 27, 2016 It is normal to be hungry at 3 weeks out? The past 2 days I have been really hungry. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
KristenLe 5,979 Posted October 27, 2016 Be sure you are taking a PPI (acid reducer) and drinking plenty of fluids. Increased stomach acid can mimic hunger - and dehydration can as well. Are you able to eat anything at this stage?
brather 7 Posted October 28, 2016 Purée stuff, but when I do eat I don't want but a couple of bites. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
eso 48 Posted October 28, 2016 I'm at three weeks and I do get hungry. Drinking Protein shakes and Decaf tea seem to help. Also popsicles are nice because I feel like I'm actually eating something, not just taking liquids. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
gl12282 15 Posted October 29, 2016 I was really hungry for months afterwards. In the end I just got used to it and accepted that although the surgery often took away hunger, it didn't always. However over time (I'm now 5.5 months post op) it has definitely got better. I still get hungry sometimes but definitely less than in the first few months.
