Food since surgery.

Recommended Posts

I used to love food. I always wanted to eat the best of everything when we would eat and I cooked new things all the time.

I'm almost three months out and I am constantly eating the same things.

Don't get me wrong, I don't find eating to be a chore right now. And some of it is wanting to make the right choices. But, somehow it seems like my head has been reprogrammed to not care about eating like I used to.

I would have no problem wasting money or time for a small portion of something good now, but I just haven't had the desire to do it.

I see a lot of people with temptation from the start so clearly not everyone is like this. Any others out there experiencing this? I'm fine with it. Seriously. Just curious of others. And if you're long sleeved, does it ever revert back?

Yes! Totally! I'm almost three year out and it has come back to a certain extent, but not completely. About a year out it came back about 20% and then just recently another 30% maybe but still dampened about 50% from pre op!

You are not alone! I am 2 months post sleeved and a combination of the surgery and failure to follow the girections regarding what not to eat. I have learned the hard way. bread ,rice and Pasta was my fix pre surgery. ..now although I tried they are my worst enemy. I no longer can tolerate them thanks to the surgery. I shop and cook with a Protein center focus. I learned that by not doing so I pay some very uncomfortable prices.

I like that food doesn't have the same draw/hold over me!
