I am 1 week out today.

HW 238 SW 230 CW 226

When do you start to see steady weight loss begin? I lost 4 pounds within the first 4 days and have not lost since. I know I shouldn't have weighed so early but I can't undo it now. I had a Dr. Appointment for something else and they weighed me today. I have had a couple BMs and do not feel bloated. I have for sure been under 600 calories a day usually between 450-550. So what do you all think?

Stop weighing. The surgery is going to do its job, just follow the plan prescribed by your surgeon. Weighing all the time is only going to drive you nuts. The body loses how it loses and you can't affect that very much right now. Fat cells absorb Water before they expel their contents to be excreted by the body, you are going to be retaining water in the fat cells a lot and it'll make your weight fluctuate from day to day. At most, weigh like once a week...and since it clearly affects you a lot, I'd consider weighing every couple of weeks. Myself, I don't weigh unless I go to the doctor's office, because the scale has always been my enemy, mentally. Consequently my weight on this site isn't going to be updated nearly as frequently as most peoples' :)

Impossible to answer because everyone is different. Many people have a stall around week 3. Be sure you are getting your Water and Protein in, and increase your calories when your surgeon says to. Calorie intact that is TOO low can actually make things worse sometimes.

I would stop weighing... Because - at three weeks you very well might stall - I lost one pound in three week--- how I weigh once a week or even once a two weeks :) good luck- I am ten weeks out and can assure you - this surgery does its job- ( or has so far ;) )

Thats where i am, week 3 and am at a stall. But what do i do? Im still so nauseated that i cant drink another shake but i can get my Protein from eggs and tuna and different stuff now. But im still having problems getting the fluids in. My stomach is so tight that i get this pain all the damn time after drinking. Im tryingto figure out what side my gallbladder is on. I get this really bad pain. Its like a burning pain. I went to the dr and his PA said its nothing to worry about but its still painful. Its almost like im taking pain medication everyday still, thats how painful this is. Is anyone else still taking pain medication 3wks after surgery

@@ppressey24 Your gallbladder is on your right side, tucked under the lower portion of your ribcage below the sternum

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
