BigViffer 3,544 Posted October 25, 2016 There is a reason it's called the liquid phase and soft foods. Yogurt is thick. You stomach is very swollen right now and the opening is very small. Even liquids will cause a backup in the esophagus. Eating something like yogurt will take longer to dribble into as well as out of your stomach. I understand the cravings, but honestly; is a yogurt really worth setting a precedent in your mind that it is ok to cheat already?
Inner Surfer Girl 12,015 Posted October 25, 2016 I was allowed Greek yogurt during my full liquid phase. What does your NUT say?
facebro29 272 Posted October 25, 2016 No to dangerous. I've been sticking strictly to my NUT guidelines. I was allowed runny yogurt during my 'liquid' phase. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Lema 236 Posted October 25, 2016 I had yogurt 4 days after the surgery. No chunks and one little cup would last me an entire day. You put it on your tongue and let it melt. I could not have broth and it was either that or nothing. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
theantichick 2,204 Posted October 25, 2016 Yogurt (regular and greek smooth, no chunks) was included in my list of approved foods for the full liquid phase. You should have been given a list of acceptable foods for each stage. There are medical reasons for the process to advance your diet, so it's more than just "cheating" at this stage. Each doctor has a different diet advancement plan, you need to stick to what your doc has advised. My doc had me advancing much more quickly than most of the other plans people have discussed here, so what was on my plan might not be OK with your doc. florence_faerie1515 19 Posted October 25, 2016 I was also allowed light yogurt, sugar free pudding and stained creamed Soups on my full liquids stage but I would ask your team to see if it's permitted on your plan. Good luck and stay strong! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
