Hi eveyrone, I got the band today. When I first woke up my vison was totall bured. I tought it went away, but I got home I tried rea the newspaper, ready about my new rx's and I coulldn't read them. It like things are really blurry up close, even now as im typing, far away I see things clearly. I've always had perfect vision, so ths is really got me woried. Is it just from the anesthia? Did anyone else experiance this? It's driving nuts having to have family real instruftions and :cool:pill bottles to me.

Hey Mermaidpuppy,

I figure you probably can't read much on the computer right now so I googled anesthesia and blurred vision. Several websites do indicate that blurred vision can be a side effect of anesthetic drugs. The couple I looked at didn't make it sound as if it was anything to be concerned about.

However, since who knows what's real on the internet and also I don't know what actual drug was used in your anesthetic, you probably should call your doctor/lapband clinic just to be on the safe side.

Good luck!

Thanks Lizser. I'll see how it is when I wake up in the morning. I work for 2 drs and they always call patients that evening if they had a procedure done to chekc on them an answer ay qustions. Tha would have been very nice. Surely it will be better tommorrow. Who knows what is cauing it, I'm a person that never had to take drugs, and now i have a ton of stuff to take, so it might be anything. Thanks for your responce.

Hi I hope you are feeling good. I had my surgery August 13th and I have to tell you I had the same problem as you. It is terrible. I am still having issues. I spoke with my doctor and he told me more than likely it is from the anesthtic. I am sorry this is happening to you. I wore glasses to read before now I need them all the time. It is very discouraging. Hopefully with time our eye sight will get better. Take Care.

I'm doing OK today. My vision is still blurry, seems to get worse sometimes and better others. I feel like crap though. I cant find a comfortable sleeping position. The pain meds he gave me are for nausea/pain. I think I need something stronger. I can't really tell much of a difference. They say to take them every 4 hours, but ive been about every 3 1/2 hours. I just hope im ready to go back to work on Tuesday. I will not be able to function wiht my vision like this. Guess thats why we have sick days huh? I'm trying to force down the Protein stuff. I'm not hungry at all. Pre op any food commercial would make my mouth Water. Now when I see food it kinda makes me repulsed! I'm supposed to be walking 25 minutes twice a day. I got outside a little bit today just to walk around the dogs, but I had no energy. I've got to drink the protein. Maybe tomorrow will be better. I hope so. Thanks for your concern. Hope you are all well!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
