Most cereals, hot or cold will be high in carbohydrates and made of wheat/contain starch. Very early on, I ate cream of wheat, because I wasn't counting carbs and I needed a few.

At a few months out up to a year out, unless it's something that's on your surgeon's list of foods you should eat, I would (personally) avoid it.

If your surgeon says it's no problem, I would ask him/your NUT for suggestions. All of them are going to be carb heavy. I at least try to look for some Protein and dietary Fiber. Study those labels and COUNT THE CARBS.

I didn't eat cereal or any grain of any kind until I hit my weight loss goal and had been successfully maintaining for months. Cereal is not your friend in weight loss IMO.

I agree. Too many carbohydrates in cereal. And not to mention breaking the "no eating and drinking at the same time" rule with cereal and milk. At 2+ years out, I can count on one hand how many times I've had cereal. And it was only after I'd lost all my weight and was in maintenence.

I eat All Bran Buds mixed in with my yogurt all the time for the Fiber. I also eat old fashion shredded wheat. You know the giant pillow looking thing? I just let it soak up all the milk it can hold. Good carbs are not something to be afraid of, they are necessary!

I eat kashi go lean in my Greek yogurt or with fruit and fairlife milk. Good carbs are necessary.
