I was back after one week. You never know about complications, but if there are none, you should be feeling fine to do that type of work.

I work in outside sales. I drive a lot and do a lot of lifting. My surgeon has put in paperwork for me to be off six weeks but I'm hoping to return around four weeks. Who knows since I'm only one week out now.

A week off and I went salmon fishing the day before I came back. No issues whatsoever. Your results may vary.

At age 67 I could have been back to work in 4 days. I never felt I even had surgery. We are all different.

I did outpatient surgery. Did it on a Thursday, and was back at work Monday. I also do a desk job where the heavy lifting is just my arm to the keyboard.

I was sleeved on 10/06 and returned to work on 10/24 ... so I took off a little over two weeks. I should've taken the third week. I donot have a problem with getting in my Protein and fluids, but I'm tired by noonish everyday.

I had my surgery on 9/28 and took off 4 weeks, wish I had taken at least 1 more week. This week was hard so busy not able to get in my Fluid or Protein so extremely tired. I have a desk job also, probably needed that extra week. Also starting yesterday lots of pain on left side. Not sure if gas or may have pulled something. Hurts like hell if sit to long or bend over. Have a follow up with Dr on Monday, so she can tell me what's up.

I was back after a week (technically around 9 days with the weekends) and no problems, but it's a desk job. I had to...like you, finances wouldn't really permit more time off.

Thx for sharing, same boat as u...

How are you feeling since you posted this? What did the dr. say it was? Hope you are doing better.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
