Let me tell you....it's GREAT!!!! I just went for my 4th fill yesterday. My surgeon was there and stopped in to say hi. When he saw I had lost 11 pounds in one month he wigggled his eyebrows up and down and said "It WORKS, doesn't it!" and I said It sure DOES!!!!!" I just graduated to size 14 pants (still have new size 16s and size 18s!!!!!). With me, I can get down on the floor to open file cabinets at work without CRAWLING up the cabinets to get on my feet!!!!

:whoo:

hello i have not been banded yet and i was wondering after surgery how long untill your first fill?

Most have their first fill 6 weeks post-op. That's in insure that you have healed and have begun to slowly introduce regular food. They want to determine from your food consumption and weight loss to date how much restriction you currently have so that they can gage how much of a fill to give you.

I took my measurements & I'm down 24.50 inches total so far. :whoo:The scale hasn't moved in almost two weeks (stopped at -24 lbs) but I'm still melting away. I was in a 24 for pants (waist was a little big to start). Now they are hanging off me, not falling yet but close.

Now I get to go shopping through my wardrobe to find a smaller pair. Not sure what size I am yet (22 or 20) until I find the pants.:biggrin1:

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
