My program is a multi-Vitamin that contains 200% of daily value of most nutrients and 100% Iron, 1200-1800 mcg Calcium citrate, B-12 500 mcg daily or 2500 mcg weekly

Optional for me since I wasn't low in any of these Vitamins (but I take them anyway):

2000-5000 IU Vit D

2-4 grams fish oil (I take krill oil).

Every program is different though.

I take both of those twice a day plus these three once a day...Iron, B1, B12.

Doesn't the Multi EA have all the B12 you need? Dumb question I know. Lol. So I need to definitely get myself some B1. Thank you for the response.

Lol. You had me go and look. It sure does. My dr told me to take the B12. Now I'm gonna have to check back to see if it's still needed.

I did just read about the B12...you can't take too much. Also, I was told I didn't need to start for a couple weeks after surgery. And, you'll need to time your Vitamins, you can't take them all at once. Kind of a pain. I sometimes forget. I eat Breakfast...wait 1 hour take multi, wait one more hour take calcium citrate, wait about 30 minutes take b1 and B12. Then after lunch....one hour take multi and another hour take calcium citrate. At bedtime I take the Iron. I wonder if anyone else does this. I was told you'll get sick if you take them to close together.

Hmmmm interesting! That schedule is crazy!! LOL. I was just planning to take the chewys during the day and Multi Vitamins at night since I also have to take thyroid meds in AM which can't be taken at the same time as the Multi vit. I think they have a B12 spray they offer. I'm gonna check that out. Just wanna have everything I need at home for the first few days after surgery.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
