acm22_ 58 Posted October 23, 2016 So today (10/23) I am going back to college. I've been out for a week and I go back to classes Monday. I'll admit MWF are my long days beginning at 8am until 6pm, I'm a little nervous about being warn out, sitting for too long, blood clots and the normal things you tend to worry about.... Tuesday's and Thursday are my short days so I am not to worried about keeping up. Thursday I also have a 3 hour night class so I'm especially nervous about sitting all those hours. I'm also nervous about the different reactions and comments I'll be getting from people ... I have an apartment with 3 other people and one of them is my good friend so she already knows about the whole Surgery and things... the other two girls are more or less might be problematic. One girl completely has the fridge taken over and now with my new dietary needs some of her food is going to have to go.... I'm really worried about going back.... does anyone think it's too soon for me to return??? I feel like I didn't have enough time to get back on my feet..... Inner Surfer Girl 12,015 Posted October 23, 2016 It might be too early to go back. I recommend you talk to someone in your disability services/dean of Students office or similar about possible accommodations: whether it is needing extra time out of class, or something else. One thing I found challenging soon after surgery was mental focus/fuzziness. You may experience some of that which could impact your school work.
highfunctioningfatman 2,675 Posted October 23, 2016 I agree with the mental fuzzies!
acm22_ 58 Posted October 23, 2016 Sounds like a plan. I will surely email her in the morning, as well as the dean of students. We have a 3 day policy before your financial aid comes into play -Ariannuhh❤️
