Mandat89 28 Posted October 23, 2016 So.. I'm looking to switch to federal Bcbs. I know hey have a required 3 month supervised weight loss program. If I had been seeing my doctor about the weight loss previous to having bcbs, would they allow me to count that as the three months? Or would I need to wait until im covered by that insurance and then start the three months? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
olamae 16 Posted October 23, 2016 I have the same issue right now. My insurance now doesn't cover so I'm going to my pcp for supervised dieting until I switch in Jan. Aetna said they will take the information from the 6 months. I would call Bcbs Sent from my SM-G900R4 using the BariatricPal App

As someone who got sleeved with BCBS medical, its a 6 months supervised weight loss and it has to be specifically documented as a food and exercise diet. Make sure your doctor very clearly notes your chart. I was denied several times because of the supwrvised diet portion. HW 385 SW 359 Sleeved 10/5/
Mandat89 28 Posted October 24, 2016 Hi I mean that I am a federal employee. I believe that the benefits are different for federal employees and regular bcbs. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
