Yeah skinny jeans are useless when you are losing, they get saggy so fast. I am not spending over $30 on jeans right now, even though I really want some nice ones in the $180 range just because they fit. *sigh*

I go for bodycon dresses because you can get the most mileage out of them. Even when they get a little loose, you can bunch them up a little and they will look like they have some ruching.

Yeah, it is basically dressing like a Kardashian hiding their Lipo scars 101. Layers for warmth and to hide certain things, while still showing a lot off, because bodycon. Also wearing Shapewear and tight clothes helps hold warmth in.

Just wanted to throw my 2c in on the heated mattress pad topic. I have one (got it as a gift) that automatically shuts off after a few hours. You can set the temp to one of 5 settings with a remote in each side, and each side heats individually. I'm in love with it for this winter!

Ready for a chance at really living! ❤️

Bed-I use a heated throw, it allows me to just warm myself up and and not hubby (who is always hot) or the whole bed. Plus it has a timer and shuts itself off after 3 hours.

Body- I wear base layers under my clothes and leggings or tights under skirts and dresses.

Feet- wool socks, slippers and socks

Hands- gloves for outside, thought it's hard to find a pair that fit well and that allow me to use my iPhone and give me good dexterity. I also bought hand warmers for my pockets.

Outerwear- lots of options with jackets, I always like the ones with removable liners so I can adjust the warmth.

House- I also use a portable/space heater as to not heat the whole house but to warm the area I am in (again, hubby is always hot).

Head- scarves and knit hats

I will be two years post op on December 22nd. And I can tell you two years later I am still hating the fact that I am cold all the time. I usually wear not 1 but two layers of compression under garments under my clothes, and that has helped a lot with not only keeping me somewhat warm, but with some of the loose skin not getting too loose on me. I would recommend those at least to help with keeping more of your body heat within you.

3 months post op and it's a frigid 40 degrees in NYC. I shivered audibly several times today. I've got to rethink my entire wardrobe if this keeps up- black tights all winter won't cut it.
I also need a new super heavy comforter and maybe a warm fuzzy robe? Does anyone have any recommendations for either of those? I need like a serious surviving winter in Scandinavia style comforter. So so cold.

Well, what a devastating, delectable, delightful mental image I have of my WLS pals over there in the US. I'm surprised that you haven't got your knitting needles out and getting woolly hats and scarves churned out to keep you going throughout the cold months! Toughen up you lot-try living here in the U.K.!! Global warming has yet to manifest itself here and those of us who originally hail from north of the border in Scotland have genes pre-programmed to deal with the cold and the damp! OK, I do admit that I was the one last year who was knitting woolly hats, piling a few extra layers on and surrounding myself with husband, three dogs and two cats in bed. No idea what it's going to be like this year as we have had the mildest Autumn possible. Will keep you posted.

As for slutty dressing girls (well boys too if that's your penchant).........YAY!!!! It's fun, fun and more fun. I bought over the knee boots about six months after my VSG and they were too tight around the calf. Yesterday, a year after surgery, they slipped up my legs beautifully. I also buy a great US brand of jeans NYJ (Not Your Daughter's Jeans) whenever I see them in a sale as they are expensive over here. They are great moral boosters and they are cut to make your bum look great. I might have hit the age of 60 in September but that isn't going to stop my fun. Nor for that matter will the cold when it hits us!

The following pic was taken 8 months after surgery as I was just getting back into the swing of slutty styling.post-266130-14778110745818_thumb.jpg

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
