madisunshine1 128 Posted October 22, 2016 I'm almost 3 months post op and I have stomach flu. This is TERRIBLE. I haven't had the stomach flu in 10 or so years. The vomiting and diarrhea is just awful. I went to dr. They have me some meds. Does anyone have any "go to" beverages? I cannot handle Water. I don't want to do tea bc of the caffeine. I have been drinking Powerade zero as much as possible and had some diet ginger ale. I went from nauseated to now cramping--- probably bc of all the meds and this is so rough on my tummy. Is there anything that helped you guys ever? I'm desperate and miserable. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
lalame 56 Posted October 23, 2016 pedialyte pops usually for kids who are dehydrated. That's what you have to worry about. They look like otter pops. Also saltine crackers. Mushie when you chew. Feel better. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

rolosmom7 740 Posted October 23, 2016 I just asked a similar question. Peanut Butter on crackers worked well. I used whole grain crackers and natural Peanut Butter. Just get through the sickness. For tea - herbal ginger tea, peppermint, etc are good for tummies. Green tea is not as caffeinated as you think. Black tea has about 20% of a cup of coffee, green tea usually the same as Decaf (5-10%) so don't let that worry you. If you stay away from black tea you'll be good. elisa5150 212 Posted October 23, 2016 The carbonation in ginger ale may be causing the cramping. Switch to a ginger tea Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
