clamb 5 Posted October 23, 2016 The same thing happened to me. I was told that the stress of the surgery and the blood thinners could have triggered it. My period lasted a full 12 days. I am to see if I have another one in November and to contact my gyn. Sent from my SCH-I545 using the BariatricPal App
busybeebug 415 Posted October 23, 2016 That's something to talk about with your gyn. Some general rules of thumb from my untrained exerience of heavy bleeding. If you are heavy like a super maxi pad every hour or so, then you should probably go to the er. Obviously if you are experiencing other symptoms lIke pain, dizziness, extreme fatigue, nausea, shivers, fever, pale and clammy, heart flutters, racing heart beat, hypotension, irregular heart beat on top of the bleeding then go to er. Basically call the gyn, leave message with the answering service and talk to who is on call and, seek their advice. If you feel you are in more dire situation go to Erie, call gyn on the way over to give a heads up
rolosmom7 740 Posted October 23, 2016 This happened to me, and I had to have surgery 3 days ago to correct it. I bled very very heavily for a month. Large clots - once it was bad enough to go to the ER, I'd already lost a ton of blood and was scheduled for surgery the next day. And I saw my obgyn last week, who said to wait it out. So I had emergent surgery 4 weeks after being sleeved and it's horrible. I have endometriosis and endometrial hyperplasia (the hylerplasia part I just found out). So long story short, if it's that heavy, MAKE them test your blood counts.
