I don't want to know how much I've lost

Recommended Posts

because I don't want to stress myself on how much I've lost or not lost. I will be leaving it up to the doctor to determine what my needs are based on the information I give him; i.e., fills, etc. Does anyone else feel that way?

Quite a few people on here feel the same way, I've noticed. I know the feeling! Right now I'm not weighing myself because i haven't even had my first fill yet, so I don't want to put myself through the ups and downs. Once I have my fill I will probably start weighing myself more often, as seeing the scale move down really motivates me to keep up the exercise and hard work. You're not alone though! Do what works best for you

I find that if I don't weigh every day I can make more excuses about eating the wrong things. I weigh religiously every morning and watch the 10ths of a pound on my digial scale. Everyone is different, but NOT having a scale or being aware was what got me into this pickle to begin with.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
