Looking for January 2017 sleevers

Hang in there. My dr mentioned some feel lots of fatigue a few weeks post op. Do you have a nausea med? Maybe call your dr.

The problem is it's not really nausea. It's more like a dumping thing I think. I eat something, it feels like it's sitting ABOVE my stomach and not going in, and then I need to be sick very quickly. I start back at work today too so I'm concerned about it all.

Hope return to work goes ok. Zofran is supposed to help with nausea and vomiting. May not be what you need, but see what dr says.

What are you hating? Protein shakes? Do you ever have home made broth? I hate it, a few days after surgery we drove to the beach and all the food that was being cooked smelled delicious. Just breathing it in felt good. The girls that I was with met at a restaurant that evening and I didn't go because smelling and seeing food was too much for me. I feel I could still eat. I was sleeved 1/10, started all Vitamins, Calcium, Biotin yesterday, and Protein drinks yesterday. Today I added no sugar Protein pudding, and Jello. I made homemade bone beef broth in crockpot (8 hours) yesterday, it is so satisfying and tastes sooooo good. You may want to try with chicken bones since meat might be too much for you. It is very good and full of Vitamins, make sure you strain it.

@@Ginsin007 Even now, with the food not staying down super well, I feel like I could eat. My friend's husband was sleeved in June of last year and he told me that he didn't really start feeling full until a month or so out from surgery when he could eat solid food again...that all of the liquids and semi-solids didn't leave him feeling the same way ever. He's lost a lot of weight and is still losing so I'm not as worried as I was before talking to him. OMG, that Protein pudding tastes gross, but it goes down easy at least! I'm missing veggies and salads of all things. My doctor is pretty progressive and lets me eat more solids than a lot of people who are only 2 weeks out gets, but he said if it doesn't sit well, dial it back for a bit and I'm trying that today.

Good luck to all of us and may we all reach goal weight in a reasonable amount of time!

Gross?? :D I have been using Protein shakes, puddings, jellos, Cereal as needed for over 20 yrs. I am so used to them that it was such a welcome to eat them yesterday. I am sitting here eating a Health Wise Gelatin right now. I figure we could eat Jello, this has the Protein and it's a tad better for body. The one thing I did hate was LiquaCel. I had one (I have a supply of course) yesterday and DAMN it was so funky sweet. Never knew what too sweet was until that. I hated people who would something was too sweet cuz I could down maple Syrup straight up. The LiquaCell was gag sweet.....so bizarre cuz I loved them before surgery.

Hi all! Today marks exactly one week since I had surgery! The ups and downs: ups are I have lost 9 pounds since surgery????(some reason I thought it would be more- being ungrateful I guess), I have been cleared to eat yogurt, applesauce and Jello for taste????. The downs are: it takes all day to drink my Protein Shakes and Water and sometimes I still can't, I literally have to take breaks in between each bite and sip or a horrible gas bubble lodges in my chest????, I get lightheaded and weak sometimes(doctor said my blood pressure could have dropped too low or I might be dehydrated).

That's just a few things. Another cool thing is he said I might be off my bp meds real soon!!!! My bp was in "normal" range at my week followup!!! I haven't had a normal numbers in 9 years!!!!!! This is gonna be a life altering journey????

I went back to a simpler diet yesterday and managed to keep all my food down. I don't think I am getting enough fluids but I am trying. Clear Liquids kind of hurt going down making it harder. Work sucks but that's work, not the surgery;) It's hard to go back to pudding/cottage cheese and cream Soups when I had graduated to wet solids. I'm missing them already!

Two days post op. Feeling sore, but glad to be back home. No appetite what so ever!

So jealous! I had mine last week on 1/10, I was hungry (still am) two-three days later. We went on a tour along the beaches, and just couldn't suck in enough of the seafood that was grilling along the little restaurants. I was not alone, all the girls with me were the same. We'd joke with one's hubby because he'd eat everywhere. We wanted to lick his Clamato :D

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
