Anyone out there have the ds or wls that works the night shift? Is there any differences for you versus someone that works during the day. I have not had it yet but i have noticed that im usually low on Vitamin D and now they tell me copper too. Just curious with different eating times and sleeping times how that may affect things lol. Of course im probably overthinking things again. Lol

Most people are low on Vitamin D whether or not they are obese. Most do not spend enough time outdoors in sunlight so need supplements to not be low.

Yeah I work the night shift and I take Vitamin D every morning, as my levels were low (as it seems is has been for most of us night owls). As for how it affects anything else, it pretty much doesn't. My eating schedule is what it is, I take my supplements when I'm supposed to, and just try to squeeze as much Protein and Water into my day as I can. I think it's actually easier during the night shift, because there is no prescribed "time" where everyone goes for lunch, and I don't deal with the social aspects of that. I can do my own thing.

When I work the night shift the biggest problem I have had is freezing. I used to enjoy 65 Degrees and now I freeze at anything below about 80. 6 month out and it is getting a little bit better. Have also had some problems with mild muscle cramping in my legs and chest. Guess I need some more potassium. Since I switched to Bari Life complete Vitamins it has gotten a lot better.

Aren't you supposed to eat your meals at night if you are doing a night shift as you would during the day?? I used to do night shifts and will probably do a couple in the near future, too. I was planning on taking out my food and Proteins at night the way I would during the day.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
