Two questions for the ladies in the forum!

Recommended Posts

First, how many started with the belly pooch and had a great deal of skin leftover from the weight loss? My doctor thinks I will have some to deal with. Did you get surgery to get rid of it? If yes, was that difficult/expensive?

Second, I have D cup breasts and actually kinda like them - how much breast fat did you lose post surgery? I am not letting that worry me or anything, but I have had these my whole adult life and It would be strange to not - you know? Thank you!

Hi! I had a belly pooch (great word) before starting. So when I lost my weight, I had no choice but to have surgery to remove it. As for my breasts, I think I was about an f cup. When I lost all my weight, I was left flat as a pancake! So I had a Tummy Tuck and boob uplift/implants done at the same time.

I won't lie, it did hurt. But it wasn't unbearable. Would I do it again? Hell yes! It completely changed my figure and confidence, it was the final chapter you know?

Happy to answer any other questions :)

@@HRHMKB

I had a belly and boobs before surgery. :)

I can't afford plastics. I have to find good bra's and shape wear to hide the loose skin. Weight lifting has helped me tone up a. But, It does not make the lose skin go away. I'm still overjoyed with my results. The skin issue I can deal with.

I have a tummy pooch! I started a 44DD, and ended up a 36D. I actually had a couple consults for plastics and even had a loan ready for a panniculectomy and a lift with implants, but ultimately decided I would rather spend the money on a vacation or remodeling my house. I may change my mind down the road, but we'll see.

I know I will eventually have to have a Tummy Tuck and probably my breast done. I'm a DDD and have always had big breast. I've already told my husband if I go smaller than a D, he has to buy me some more. I would be lost without them.

I'm not sure with surgery - I think it REALLY varies based on the woman. I haven't seen cup size change gaininh weight or losing weight. Band size changes for me. Breast cancer runs rampant in my family, I'm debating getting mine chopped and replaced anyway.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
