I was getting 60-80 oz a day in up until I started eating soft foods. Now I find it harder to get all 64 oz in since any food at all totally stuffs me.

I get between 70-90oz per day. I finally puchased a Camelbak and it made drinking Water so much easier! I now have 3 of them and it goes everywhere I go.

Im 16 days post op and I struggle to get my 64 ounces in as well. The hardest part for me is not drinking a half an hour before and after eating. As the days go by I can drink more and more though.

I'm 18 days post op and get my liquids in no problem. It's taken me a while to get here though. When soft foods start not sure how that will work. Try to drink as often as possible. You will eventually build up to the Water intake. Don't stress yourself out.

Keep a 20oz Water bottle next to you and keep taking sips all day long. 2-4oz at a time will help you reach your daily goal and keep you well hydrated. Keep up the great work.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
