rdharri 46 Posted October 21, 2016 I'm only 16 days post op, but have been reading here for about 7 months. From my research there is nothing that prevents hair loss. Some experience more than others regardless of Vitamins and Protein. My friends that had the surgery had thinning but not to the point to buy a wig. I started out with thick hair hoping for minimal loss. The good side of the research was.....most people reported their hair grew back. Since I wanted the surgery so much, I put the hair worry in last place. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-T377A using the BariatricPal App
rking 484 Posted October 21, 2016 There is a current post, today, about Hair loss. Search for it. Basically I lost a ton of hair for four months then it stopped and it has all grown back. Just a bump in the road. Love your new body and don't sweat the temporary hair loss
Pescador 1,374 Posted October 21, 2016 I took worthless Biotin for two years. I started.hair loss at five months, for 1 1/2 years. Only a wig was my saving grace. I stopped coloring my hair, I stopped blowdrying my hair, and no matter what anyone says, you either will or won't have extreme Hair loss. Three years after the sleeve, I finally have hair. Never buy a wig online, you must try them on..
iloveorganicmilk1 10 Posted October 21, 2016 Try going to an acupuncturist or traditional chinese medicine doctor. Western medicine does little with falling hair, but Asian medicine does wonders to Hair loss. I have surgery in December and I'm flying back to Korea in november to get some oriental herbal teas for the hair loss. the herbal tonics cost 500 dollars a month, but i think it will b worth it for less hair loss

Most people do not have that kind of money. I bought a beautiful $200 wig and a $5 visor and I made it though without anyone but my husband and my daughter seeing my scalp. Still a pretty penny but no 500 a month. I figure that's what I'll go for if needed.
Pescador 1,374 Posted October 22, 2016 My hair was too blond and too thin to even think of a hair extension.
