Can eat 4oz with no problem!

Recommended Posts

So I'm 2 weeks post op (sleeve) and I'm on mushy foods. I really have no problem getting down the 4oz my doctor recommends. I even had 5oz of mashed potatoes. Think anything is wrong?

Oh and one of the best things to eat is wonton broth with pastina in it...just a little FYI

Basically anything that isn't a dense Protein. When you are eating meat, I seriously doubt you will be able to eat 4 ounces. 4 ounces is an expected amount to be able to eat according to my booklet, 2-4 ounces.

Don't listen to all the people that talk that 2 bites BS. We have no idea what 2 bites is, and it is useless anecdotal information, not a scientific measurement.

I'm gonna be on puréed foods next week and I am so nervous about puréed meets! Lol, I'm not sure I can eat chicken with the texture of applesauce. Stupid question, is it 2-4 oz weight or measured?

I never did puree meat as it sounds unappealing. Mostly did Soups with veggies in blender. It doesn't matter if you measure or weigh.

Yeah, I think it sounds heinous too, but I like experiments!!! Lol!! I'm gonna try a few recipes I found. Fingers crossed!

I can eat 3 oz if it is mushy like tuna with lite mayo, cottage cheese or Soup and the like. I can only eat 1 or 2 oz of meat such as soft chicken or salmon so far. I am 18 days post op.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
