Mandyw 0 Posted September 7, 2007 OK, I know you are not supposed to be drinking from a straw after being banded due to excess gas, right? Well, what about blenders? I've read so many posts where people blend Protein Shakes etc. Since they add air into the food, does it make you uncomfortable to drink things from a blender? Do you have to let it sit for a little while to let the air bubbles work out before drinking? Just wondering. I'm getting ready to start my pre-op diet, and I was going to go look for a blender today, and just got to thinking.
musicalmomma 1 Posted September 7, 2007 I don't think you need to wait to drink your shakes...just drink them slowly
kacee 3 Posted September 8, 2007 Naaahhhh...not a problem. I blend my Protein Shake every day and it is "bubble city". You just wind up burping. I even think drinking with a straw is okay if you figure out how to do it....suck and "spit" the air out and then take the liquid in.
juno610 1 Posted September 8, 2007 I get that terrible shoulder gas pain when I find myself drinking from straws too often, so I'm doing my best to cut that out. I've never had an issue with blended drinks though.
